We are a membership organization and only promote volunteer placements, trips, safaris, schools and accommodations that are run in Africa. This web-based project is dedicated to empower African projects by linking international volunteers to them and for all online marketing, including but not limited to school twinning and linking and Handicrafts marketing.
Thousands of people are anxious to donate their time and abilities but become frustrated because they don’t know where their talents are needed. At the same time, hundreds of African non-profit organizations are seeking competent volunteers to enable them to carry on their very important work. As a service organization, Hope Development Volunteers has a dual role: providing the solutions for both the volunteer and the not-for-profit organizations. HDV is, in fact, a matchmaker.
We assure a good organization-volunteer match by gathering pertinent information about both prospective volunteers and non-profit organizations.
Hope Development Volunteers is looking for long-term (12-24 months) Marketing Officers. Presently, we have a limited staff constantly juggling meetings and projects and are in need of motivated individuals designing and supervising operations. We are covering East Africa with our services of “Connecting developmental volunteers to Meaningful Projects in Africa” and we have our base in Mukono- Uganda. We currently operate in Uganda, South Sudan and Kenya. Currently, we are preparing for a large expansion and would like to hire some people with proven experience in management, sales and marketing experience.
Marketing Officers will be members of the management staff within Hope Development Volunteers. They are to establish a strong relationship between our services and the clients we are targeting with the ultimate objective of enhancing the profile of the brand and encouraging customer loyalty. They are to help in conducting detailed analysis of competitor and market activities and develop marketing strategies that are aimed at achieving optimum brand positioning and effective pricing. A marketing campaign will generally involve the use of a wide range of promotional or advertising techniques, including mail shots and press releases, with new ideas generated to ensure that the service reaches the largest possible audience.
Marketing Officers are responsible for managing close relationships with our clients to ensure that they have a full understanding of our brand and its future direction. They may be required to work extra hours in the run up to a campaign launch and travel may be involved in order to participate in exhibitions and service launches.
Excellent communication skills are essential as networking is a fundamental part of the job. The Marketing Officers need to be creative with an ability to generate new ideas and initiatives while possessing strong analytical skills to ensure the accurate interpretation of competitor and market activities.
A degree level preferably in Marketing, Business, Economics or International Relations.
Additionally skills in Advertising.
Responsible, self-starter, punctual, independent worker & attention to detail
Effective verbal & written communication
Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Access, Power Point & Publisher) Graphic & web design skills a plus
Language: English but other fluency in other languages is an added advantage
Other Responsibilities include:
Managing service launches, developing brand images, and planning and implementing full marketing plans. Channeling markets, sales enablement and building alliances and partnerships with other organizations and firms.
