Summer is a lovely time at Hope Development Volunteers. Summer is the season when volunteer volunteers are ready to travel and join your team, working for a few months to make your work stronger. We love summer here.
We just published some few summer volunteer placements for our partners, and it reminded me what a great opportunity summer presents for nonprofits that use our service. Specifically, if you’re an organization that recruits volunteers to travel work with your programs you should definitely be taking advantage of summer.
Schools will be out, work will be slow, and there are currently millions of excited and dedicated people of all ages looking to use the summer months to experience new places and gain new skills.
Hope Development Volunteers is a great tool to help you connect with these potential volunteers and get them involved in your organization’s volunteer travel and service experiences. Many similar organizations already use us, and there are currently.
And people are finding these opportunities, and they’re volunteering. For example:
- In January 2012, Jamie Carroll from Australia volunteered with African Rural Shepherds in Uganda and helped communities by improving on their sanitation and hygiene through construction of improved sanitary toilets, water sources and supporting in the construction of an orphanage dormitory building, he designed an Australian School-Linking Program and hundreds of students are benefiting from the Education Support Program offered ARCOS in Uganda. Jamie still talks about how as much as the volunteers gave to the community of Busaana and Kyotera and the community gave them back something very important in return: Love and Happiness.
How will people find you?
To give you an idea of how easy it is to find your opportunities in the Hope Development Volunteers system, here it is:
- We will advertise your volunteer program to 3000 websites online
- We will advertise your volunteer program to 46 magazines and newsletters in print and online.
- We already have 7 international partners sending volunteers to us on a monthly basis to work with projects like yours.
So head to Hope Development Volunteers’ office now, subscribe as a member and post some great voluntourism opportunities you have. Help make it a summer of service, community impact and fun for you and your volunteers.
